Finer Builds was founded by AJ and Tanya with a simple vision: to do building differently. AJ started out in the trade as a hammer hand and worked his way up through the industry, gaining experience at every level. But even in senior roles, he felt limited. As an employee there was only so much he could do for clients. He wanted to provide the level of care and respect that people truly deserved further then what his capacity allowed.

With Tanya’s background in the construction industry, business development and marketing, the pair realised they had the right mix of skills to make that vision a reality. The birth of their first son gave them the final motivation to step out on their own, creating a company built on family values, quality, and integrity.

Today, Finer Builds brings that vision to life through residential, commercial, iwi, and community projects across the Waikato and beyond. Their focus is not only on delivering quality builds, but also on supporting the next generation, creating opportunities for rangatahi to learn, grow, and contribute to the future of the industry.
